The remodel of this 1939 built residence located in the Crescent Park neighborhood of Palo Alto required a careful balance of modern elements desired by the client and adherence to traditional forms and materials common to neighborhood as directed by the planning department. As a result, exterior changes to the front facade were limited to small scale accents, a modern front door and a solar panel array. The inside of the house was gutted and re-imagined with the goal to maximize
light by vaulting ceilings and adding skylights, improve the flow and open the house to the backyard.
