The remodel of this 1939 built residence located in the Crescent Park neighborhood of Palo Alto required a careful balance of modern elements desired by the client and an adherence to traditional forms and materials
pervasive in the neighborhood required by the planning department. As a result, exterior changes to the front facade were limited to modern accents and a new solar panel array, while the inside of the house was gutted and re-imagined with the goal to maximize light (vaulting ceilings and adding new skylights over the kitchen, bedrooms and master bathroom), improve the layout and maximize the connection to the backyard.
