Replacing an original nondescript ranch style home this new two story 4,000 sq. ft. residence makes use of the existing foundation and frames the views of nearby Mt Tam and San Francisco Theological Seminary. Height limitations imposed by neighbors were overcome by vaulting the ceilings in all the min roms on the upper floor and two ten by ten feet light hats situated along the center ridge. The house was designed to accommodate the needs of several generations of family members, including an aging and mobility impaired parent, a special needs child and a live in nanny. The floor plan anticipates future changes that will allow several three generations to live under the same roof.
